Before we begin to film, I will spend a few days with the product, in a stage with the crew designing the light and motion movement that best illustrate the S10 and its features.
We can play with light and design elements, as if we are birthing the S10, creating its features while highlight their use.
Design elements and manufactured elements can be so immensely beautiful in their most simples elemental forms; seeing the pixels, the working elements inside, either by presenting them or by implying them with symbolism, the snow scene emphasizing the noteless features.
Since a lot of the features highlighted in the Beyond campaign are for the visual capabilities of the S10, it means we have to raise the bar in the type of sequences we film.
For this, I propose we use the ARRI LF camera, with Cooke S7i lenses or other large sensor ready lenses. The massive size of the sensor and unique visual range as well as the massive separation this size of sensor allows, will help present the features, and allow to illustrate the ultra wide field of view of the S10. By using the LF camera, we can also dramatize the dramatic separation, bokeh, and shallow depth of field the S10 will allow.
Indeed, the TRUEEYE camera’s impressive features and human like control force us to also go above and beyond in the way we shoot all the pieces.
During pre-production, I will request for all or as much information as possible of the exact features of the S10 so that based on that we can design and think of the best showcasing of its features, and how best to illustrate this. The audience does not want to be lectured or given data points as to its features, so, we have to give them practical information enveloped in beauty and eye catching sequences.
Some of the sequences in the Beyond document are quite lovely and enticing. I would love to leave open the possibility of adding or expanding on these ideas, again, based on knowledge of the features. There are a few other points that are not touched upon in this treatment, locations and talent, as I wish to discuss these further with the creative team to take into consideration many details of the target audience.
I look forward to expanding on the concepts presented here, and to move forward in a creative, and collaborative fashion in this great project.
