As a child, I was told adaptability, as well as the capacity to evolve quickly, were essential traits to become a leader.
This made a rather important impression on me, and by chance, or rather, by design, my career has challenged me to adapt, change quickly, to evolve in ways that shaped me as a leader for a diverse array of teams.
From script writers, film directors, production designers & art directors, cinematographers, actors, producers, programmers… I have overseen them all in a vast volume of work for the U.S., Europe and Latam, consisting of TV Commercials, TV Series, Short Films, Trans-Media and multiplatform narratives. I have produced, in over 28 cities and 18 countries, work totaling a combined amount of 52 million USD (and counting) in the last decade alone. Navigating successfully not only the needs of the projects, clients, creators, but the cultural realities that come about when leading teams of diverse people, from different nationalities and conflicting or even opposing philosophies.
The result has been to shape me into someone with a vast arsenal of knowledge in different philosophies, from the arts, communication, media, to the technical world, albeit, but one that considers eloquence and the ability to communicate ideas and concepts as important as the concept themselves.
The change we are witnessing in media, in communications and in the interaction between media and the audience, or user, is accelerating at a exponential rate. It takes people that have years of experience in already established forms of communications, but, which are adaptable and also savvy in the new ways, to lead us into what at the moment appears to be a singularity: a great unknown… but one that I believe is full of boundless opportunities.
The idea that is at the foundation of FANTASY is, to me, a compelling and attractive one. That we are facing a convergence of media, design, A.I., and a growing UX reality is both daunting (to those in the traditional media landscape) but fascinating to those of us (if I may be so bold as to include myself) that understand this dynamic as a natural progression. Those that do understand will be able to rise up and steer the rest into this new, continually evolving, landscape.
I look forward to further detailing my experiences, as well as learning about FANTASY, its clients, teams, challenges, and what it’s designs on the future are, so that I can best learn how my knowledge and experience can be put to work to help achieve this.
