Everything about Serdar’s work highlights modern multiculturalism’s influence on film. Born in Belgium, with Turkish roots, he possesses a western European visual sensibility, coupled with an American narrative storytelling style, dabbed with East-meets-West garnishes... A knockout combination.
His work is an almost symbiotic relationship between storytelling and beauty, where each one serves the other’s purpose… Not always a common trait, since many beauty directors are not always narrative directors, and vice versa. Yet his work and style are both inherently cinematic and artistic.
A film graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy Of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, he is constantly intrigued by new ideas and a desire to not stay still creatively. He also happens to be a very nice guy.
