We take pride in acting as a trusted advisor to the Director and the EP, from the initial treatment and bidding stage, up until the project is wrapped. By virtue of our extensive production experience (as actual producers in the market we are suggesting) as well as our *Cultural Understanding of the local realities, all gained on the ground and prior to the current project, we act as an invaluable and trusted guide for the Director and EP.
The purpose is to make sure the project is prepared as expected, and that the Director and EP are fully aware of any and all important facts. In our experience, over inflated promises, underperforming expectations, a lack of transparency and inadequate flow of information, or quite simply a disinterest on the part of the service provider for what the in the eyes of a Director would be a successful outcome, (aka, not just financially but creatively) are the greatest causes of problems when hiring a production service company. Having almost 2 decades worth of work in most of the countries we present as options, and having experienced 1st hand the difficulties inherent in producing outside of the major production hubs (LA, NY, Vancouver, London) gives us a level of background knowledge and experience that is second to none.
*Cultural Understanding at a minimum includes, but is not limited to, fluency in the local language, local rules, knowledge of local resources which includes local crew, vendors and 1st hand access to a network of colleagues that have and can perform any needed task(s). Cultural Understanding also means a deep network of “Truthsayers” that can help filter out any nonfactual information that might have been provided by others. From shipping vehicles to the Costa Rican jungle, to importing military equipment into Argentina, we have probably done it all, and that gives us an edge few can truly say they have.
